Will CCS administer medicine in the setting?

  • If a child has regular medication, a medication record will be kept on the child, stating the name of the medication, the amount and the time. Parents/carers must sign the record sheet at the end of the session. Non-prescribed medication will not be administered to any child.
  • During the summer periods parents and carers are encouraged to   supply their child with sun cream. Their names should be written on the bottle and staff will supervise children administering their cream .

What happens if I’m late collecting my child?

  • Parents/carers are required to inform us if they are going to be late
  • Alternative arrangements must be sought to collect your child on time
  • Children not collected by 6pm will incur an automatic charge of £10 and then £2 for every additional 5 minutes late
  • Arrangements for 6.30pm collection must be made in advance i.e. before the afternoon session commences
  • Children not collected 30 mins after their collection time will be reported to Social Services

What is the procedure if I would like to make a complaint?

If you have any further questions or concerns, your first point of contact should always be the manager of the site which your child attends.

Does the service cater for children with SEN?

We will take Special needs into consideration and will try to meet each child’s individual needs. We may not be able to provide the extra support a child may need at the first instance, but seek advice and support from Waltham Forest Early Years to include all needs and provide a service

What age does my child have to be to attend the provision?

The minimum age for a child to attend any of the provisions is 4 years-old (reception)

What is the child & staff ratio?

  • CSS’S staffing ratio is in accordance with Ofsted regulations. We use the following guidelines.
  • Children under 8 – 1 adult to every 8 children.
  • Children 8 and over – 1 Adult to every 15 children.
  • Average – 1 Adult to every 10 children.

Are the children taken off site at any time?

During term time, it is very rare that children shall be taken of site to do activities however it is possible. With regards to the holiday club, it’s very likely that children will take part in off-site activities as this makes up part of our holiday programme. Parents will always be informed before any off-site activities are conducted as permission and extra fees maybe incurred during trips.

Are staff qualified?

Half of our staffing team hold a qualification in Play or Early Years from level 2 to level 4.

Who is your registered body?

We are registered with Ofsted to provide Out of School Care for children aged 4 to 13 years.

Do you offer sibling discount?

Yes, we offer discount for After School & Holiday Club. Breakfast Club is full price.

Do you carry out risk assessments for your offsite activities?

All offsite activities are risk assessed. These are available if parents would like to have a look at.

Is there available parking?

There is no parking at any of our sites. We do not have access to the school’s car parking facilities. We ask parents to be cautious and to take note of the parking restrictions in the local area.

What happens if my child is sick on site?

Your child will be made to feel comfortable. They may be isolated from the other children if they are vomiting. Parents will be called straight away and asked to collect their child as soon as possible. If your child has been vomiting they will not be able to return to the setting for another 48 hours. You will still be charged for those days.

Does my child have access to outdoor play?

All holiday club provisions have access to outdoor play. Most of our after school/breakfast clubs also have this facility. For sites which do not have purpose built outdoor facilities, have access to local outdoor parks.

Do you offer personal care?

We do not have facilities or one to one staff to over personal care. This includes taking children to the toilet or changing nappies. We will escort children if needed and we will support them if they have an accident, but we do not assist them after use of the toilet.

Will my child/children be allowed to sign out and leave the premises unaccompanied by an adult?

We ask for all children to be collected by a responsible adult

Do you accept childcare vouchers?

Yes. We are registered with a variety of voucher schemes

How do I register my child?

Parents are asked to visit the setting they are making enquiry about. The site manager will give you a registration form and a contract to complete. Parents will also be inducted once registration is confirmed. Once you have completed a registration form you will receive a welcome email with details of your online login details to access our site and pay portal.

What snacks are provided?

Children are provided with a healthy snack. The snack consists of fresh fruit & veg, crackers, bread-sticks, sandwiches with a choice of fillings, tuna, cheese, chicken, noodles, beans/ spaghetti on toast. (All snacks take children’s dietary requirements into consideration).

Do we have to pay when my child is absent?

  • Parents are required to call the after-school club before midday if their child is to be absent, leaving their child’s name, school, class and the period of their absence.
  • Fees are payable to the club for ANY absence to secure your child’s place. This includes sickness, appointments, unplanned school closures.
  • You will not be charged any more than five consecutive days if your child is absent for the following reasons: illness, unplanned school closures. We ask that you provide us with a sick note from your GP in the case of illness.
  • You will not be charged if your child’s school has had to relocate for any reason.

Do you have to be registered to attend?

Yes. No child will be allowed to attend any of the provisions without registering beforehand and attending an onsite induction which will be conducted by the site manager

Can I use the provision on an occasional or ADHOC basis?

Children are allowed to attend on a provisional/ADHOC basis as long as they are registered beforehand, and we have capacity to accept them. You will be charged on a higher daily fee rate.

How are fees expected to be paid?

  • A deposit of two week’s payment is required alongside the first week’s payment; which will be deducted from your last week’s bill, when your 4 week’s - notice is given in writing.
  • Fees are charged on a weekly basis or a monthly basis term time and are to be paid on the first day of your child’s attendance.
  • Fees are to be paid STRICTLY IN ADVANCE. Your child’s place will be removed if we have not received payment after the first week.
  • Cheques are no longer accepted, payments can be made by cash or card on line

How can I keep my child’s place if I want to take them out of the club for a short/long period?

Your child’s place is secure if you continue to make regular payments. We cannot reserve your child’s place if you stop making payments. Your place will be offered to the net person on our waiting list.

Can I get a refund if my child is absent?

Fees are payable to the club for ANY absence to secure your child’s place. This includes sickness or appointments. We do not refund once you have made a booking. If we can we will try to offer you an alternative day if available.

Do you provide a healthy lunch for my child?

No. Parents are asked to provide their children with a healthy lunch. This may include a sandwich with a savoury filling, fresh fruit or vegetables, crackers, yogurt, oats bar and water.

How do I register my child?

Parents are asked to visit our website and register on line. Once you have completed your online registration, you will receive confirmation that your place has been secured.

Can I get a refund if I have changed my mind after booking?

Unfortunately, we do not offer full refunds after you have booked a place. You will be charged 20% if booked before 14 days of the holiday period starting. After 14 days you will be charged 50%. Within 7 days you will be charged the full amount including trips.

Do you have to be registered to attend?

All bookings have to be made online and are to be paid for in advance when your booking is made. Your place is not secured until payment has been paid.

Does my child have to be an active member to attend the holiday club?

No. Holiday club is open to the public as everybody has to sign a new registration form for every holiday club period which they attend.

Can CCS collect children from other schools they currently collect from?

We try to be as flexible and sensitive to each situation so this would be something that could be discussed with preferred site manager. Although we will consider every case, we cannot promise anything. Please send us an email info@childcare-solution.com

Are trips included in the daily fee?

Some trips do not have an additional charge; however, some trips require an additional fee. This is stated on the booking page and all fees are to be required in advance.

Is my child’s packed lunch refrigerated?

We do not have access to refrigerate all lunches. We therefore all parents to pack their child’s lunch in a cooler bag. This will keep food fresh for at least 4 hours.
